It has the average market capitalization of Rs 138,577.44 Cr as on June 5, 2018. This capital is invested 71.65% in giant companies, 24.89% in large-cap companies, and 3.47% in small-cap companies. The fund follows the growth and value investing approach for selecting any stock. Its 90% of the portfolio comprises equity, equity-linked derivatives, 9.54% in debt securities and 0.44% in cash and cash-equities.

On the basis of sectors, the fund invests significantly in the financial and banking sector, energy, automobile, technology, FMCG, healthcare sectors, etc.

ICICI Prudential Bluechip fund growth has provided the returns of 14.78% since its launch. The fund has provided the trailing returns of 11.31% in the past three years, 17.71% in past five years, and 14.25% in the past seven years.

The fund has been consistently performing well than its benchmark and category generating the alpha of 1.40%. It has managed to incur no loss in the year 2015, when the benchmark went negative, though, it has not faced serious bear market since inception. The NAV of ICICI Prudential Bluechip Fund is Rs 40.17 as on June 25, 2018.

Fund Manager:

The fund has been managed by Mr Manish Gurnani till June 2017. Now it has been managed by Mr Sankaran Naren and Mr Rajat Chandak since July 2017. They perform a qualitative analysis of the stocks before investing in them, which helps the fund to gain high returns than its benchmark and peers.

Currently, Mr Naren is working as the CIO of the ICICI Pru AMC. He is working with the company since 2004 and looking after the equity research and fund management. He has the experience of 23 years in the financial management space.
